Even tougher than convincing myself to hit the “order now” button. Have about $220 worth of detailing stuff coming in so I can do a very thorough detail on my cars. DetailedImage has a 25% off sale, order now!!

Too bad the griots garage 6" HD polisher was excluded from the sale.

Is your car lowered or is it Rwd?

The ride height is so much nicer than the XIs. I'm jealous.

I just wish the front was a tad bit lower! Besides that I think it looks great.

I had never even noticed. This isn’t on flat ground, so it’s not that pronounced, but still! Going to have to go RWD next time..

Do you detail (machine polish) your car yourself? It’s something I have always wanted to try, and I was thinking of getting the Girot’s 6" started kit this summer.

The desire to do paint correction myself is also tempered by the fact that I am also scared of hurting my car...

This will be my very first time! I’ll let you know how it goes. I was scared just like you, but you really can’t do damage with a random orbital polisher, which the griots garage is. For about $220 I got the polisher, 3 white pads, an all-in-one Polish/sealant (found one that actually corrects the paint and acts as a polish.. Just want to do a one step correction my first time to gain some experience) and a few other things.

The drive clean series on YouTube with Larry Kosilla really helped me gain confidence. Go for it!

I have watched a lot of both of Larry’s shows, Drive Clean and his Ride Along series... I am still not fully confident. I do intend to give it a try, but I may have to call in some help, and I also may get a practice panel at a junkyard first..

Let me know how it goes, and post some before and after pictures!

Will do! If it’ll help I’ll do a short write up on the process too. As a newbie myself it’ll probably be a little easier to follow than many of the other DIY’s online.

There are a lot of good tips on sites like detailedimage, autogeek, etc.

I'm buying your exact car this week. 2011 335i Xdrive with Msport. Mines black/coral red though.

Oh the Coral Red. I had a line on white/coral red, but it didn’t have the aluminium trim, which was a deal breaker (if your going to spend the money, get the car you want. Also why it took me 16 months to find the right car). Mine is Black/Black, I got it as a CPO, and I would recommend that route to anyone.

They are great cars, and with the Xdrive, I have gone through a few Really rough storms with no problems.

This will actually be my second one. Sold the last one to lease an M235i, but then decided to leave work and go back to school (I had taken a year and a half off), so I couldn't swing the payments in the M235i anymore. I'm glad to be getting back into the E92 though. I missed the seat belt hand over, that's the coolest thing ever.

My drivers side only work on occasion, but the passenger side works all the time. I usually have my belt buckled before I put the key in (no keyless) so it’s not a problem.
